Bungie Announces AU2 for Halo
Bungie have recently announced they are creating a huge auto update for Halo 3. This will be the second of its kind and will promise to be a massive feature change for the Halo 3 online experience.
What has been confirmed?
Well Bungie have also announced the change of the ranking system. The ranking system is being broken down into 2 parts, there will be a global rank ie the players current rank and an individual ranked playlist rank. Say you're a 50 in Team Doubles and you did it in 80 games, you would be a level 50 lieutenant in that playlist. If you somehow have acquired 530 exp in other playlists then you will still be seen as a general in social and custom games. This update caused much controversy in the Bungie community with higher ranked gamers letting their feelings be known to the Bungie employees.
Lot's of backend work is also being completed to improve the overall gaming system online. This might stop all talk of broken guns and cheating online. One thing it does promise to do is tidy up the pornographic content from players file shares.
There has recently been some speculation about what is to come. Bungie released a video which hinted at a new map which some people are saying is in a download pack called "Mythic Map Pack"; although this name has not been confirmed by Bungie as of yet. The main feature hinted at in the video is a map builder on top of the current forge options. This will allow users to fully build maps exactly how they want as well as being able to place AI on the map. Examples in the video include Hunters, Jackals, Flood, Cortana and Johnson.
The auto update is rumored to be out in early September. Of course, Bungie wouldn't be Bungie without only hinting at the release date by saying:
"3 weeks, keep it clean". This has now brought up talk of the mysterious Super Intendant found in the Bungie community.
