TU2 Goes Live for Halo 3

Recently Bungie released AU2 otherwise known as Title Update 2 onto the Halo 3 universe. Title update 2 brought with it some big changes to the way Halo 3 online multiplayer is played as well as revealing some new features which are soon to come to Halo 3.

The most noticeable of the changes is the new ranking system. Although the ranking system has not been rewritten the way it displays has changed which has added more dimensions to the game. This move has been seen as controversial by some gamers who say they worked hard to achieve a certain rank and feel they are being stripped of it. What has changed? Each playlist now has it's own individual experience counter, this means that you maybe a general in Team Doubles but in MLG you may only be a Captain. Many people see this as a further challenge in the game as the game now doesn't end once you reach 50 in 1 playlist. My personal opinion is that it was a good move by Bungie!

With TU2 Bungie also released some new achievements to be unlocked on xbox live. Some of these include the Vidmaster Annual, 7 on 7 and Double Double. This has given many gamers the chance to easily reach 1000g and unlock certain armour in the game. While doing this Bungie also put into action a new banning system to stop achievement boosting as well as experience boosting, this has resulted in over 8000 people being banned from playing Halo 3 for 2 or more weeks. This has resulted in many people arguing against the ban but Bungie's response to these people is that they were warned. "Play by the rules or prepare to be stung".

In preparation for TU2 to go live xbox updated the achievements list with the 10 new achievements. At this time it was revealed that Bungie has in the works 20 additional achievements as well as 6 new maps - Longshore, Assembly, Citadel, Heretic, Orbital and Sandbox. All the new maps come with a hidden skull which will add to the gameplay on the maps. Pictures of Assembly can be found on bungie.net but no further information has been released about the other 5 maps. Rumors have been flying about with talk about a new forge map - Sandbox? Many gamers will be used to a Sandbox map on games such as Far Cry 2, Timesplitters and Command and Conquer. Sandbox is commonly known as a blank map with the ability to add objects wherever you want. This will result in many more gamers going back to Halo 3 to experience all new user created content and different types of gameplay on the maps. This may even be coming sooner than people think as Bungie have recently updated their website to accommodate for better file sharing capabilities - preparation for Sandbox maps?

All we know for certain is that the fight has not yet been finished.
