This next week in the techy world belongs to Apple with a hyped up keynote on the way - Tuesday October 14th at 10am.

Invitations for the keynote have been dispatched in the past few days and a few have been posted on the internet. The image simply says "The spotlight turns to notebooks".

Over the past month there has been vast speculation about new Apple notebooks with upgraded hardware such as RAM, processors and graphics cards. With Snow Leopard (the next installment of OS X) to ship next year surely it is about time for Apple to prepare its products to accommodate the operating system.

Other rumors on the web have seen speculation of the "Macbook Brick". 9to5mac have gone on record to state that this rumor is not referring to a new product but in fact a new production process. This process is believed to involve lasers and high powered water jets to shape the case. The benefit of this is reduced amount of screws in the outer casing which ultimately results in fewer weak spots on the notebook. This may be the type of update consumers are after during the time when a recession is on the cards.

I will keep you updated throughout the next 5 days with any more rumors and pictures that maybe of some interest.
